Book Discussion
Why meet to discuss a book? Often discussion with other people who have read the same book leads to new insights. It can cause one to look at the world, themselves or history in a different way. We read a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction. The book discussion group meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 7:30 in the Friendship Room. New members are always welcome. Please feel free to join us at any of our meetings.
Some of the books we have read include:
- The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid
- Crow Lake by Mary Lawson
- Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo (the story of life in a Mumbai slum)
- Under an Afghan Sky by Melissa Fung
- Little Bee by Chris Cleave
- Bride of New France by Suzanne Desrochers

Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a series of yoga movements done sitting on a chair and also some standing
postures with the help of a chair. As a result, it improves seniors health.
Yoga is an excellent way for older adults to:
* loosen and stretch painful muscles ,
* reduce stress
* improve circulation
* develop greater flexibility
* helps lower blood pressure
* protects joints and improves range of motion, (great for arthritis)
* builds strength and balance
It is interesting and fun!
